A tragic accident occurred in the district of İzmit in Kocaeli. Recep Özdemir, a 24-year-old man riding a cross motorcycle on Ömer Türkçakal Boulevard in Sanayi Mahallesi, lost his life due to a chain of sudden events while progressing towards the pedestrian crossing. While attempting to cross to the other side from the pedestrian crossing, the young man collided with a Ford brand minibus with license plate 41 ARJ 997 and was dragged meters away due to the impact of the collision.

The moment of the accident was recorded by a nearby vehicle camera and later spread on the internet. In the footage, it's clearly visible the minibus colliding with the motorcycle at high speed and then the young man being thrown onto the road. Despite the intervention of bystanders and rapidly arriving medical teams, it was reported that Recep Özdemir lost his life.

Following the accident, medical teams called to the scene took the young man to Kocaeli State Hospital for initial treatment. However, despite all efforts, he could not be saved. After the funeral prayer held at Vezirçiftliği Ulu Mosque in Başiskele district of Kocaeli, Recep Özdemir was laid to rest in Düzce.

An investigation has been launched into the minibus driver involved in the accident. The fact that the incident was recorded by security cameras is considered an important evidence for the progress of the investigation. Authorities continue their efforts to determine the causes and those responsible for the accident.

This tragic incident has caused great sorrow among both the family and the people in the surrounding area. It is emphasized that there needs to be more awareness in the community about adhering to traffic rules and being careful following the accident.
